We found each other online (who doesn’t these days) but met in Sheffield after Sean mysteriously appeared in the city, totally by accident and 100% not with the intent of bumping into Marcus.

Our first date was supposed to only really be a quick cup of coffee. Mostly to check that each other wasn’t totally crazy. We certainly fooled each other into a false sense of security there! After our 3rd cup of coffee and clearly upsetting the locals with our laughter we decided to take a walk around the city chatting, before grabbing a bite to eat. Before we knew it we’d be laughing, talking and walking for several hours and miles! Talk about 3 dates in 1 - Sean does like to be efficient.

Fast forward a bit and we hit the global pandemic. Lockdown was looming and the thought of a long distance, zoom based relationship didn’t appeal to us. We bit the bullet and Marcus “temporarily” moved in with Sean in Nottingham. Lockdown either cemented or broke relationships and neither of us killed each other - that’s a win right? Marcus became step-dad to two Maine Coon cats (Max and Dexter) who quickly accepted him as their general dogsbody and we never looked back.

After a couple of years and a couple of house moves, we went on a lovely holiday to the Maldives. One evening, under a blanket of stars, over the Indian Ocean, Sean proposed. Marcus said yes before then realising he was over water & holding a ring so decided to kneel to prevent him from going overboard! We were lucky enough to be with some dear friends (Hi Gemma and Tom), so got to spend the rest of the holiday celebrating with them as well as planning the wedding!

We are so looking forward to starting this new chapter of our lives together, and can’t wait to celebrate with all of our favourite people.
